Starstruck Vill Case Study Image

CASE 1: Starstruck Villa

Objectives & Needs
Owners of this rental villa needed an inital item for brochure racks and for auction hand-outs.

To provide booking information, and to offer renters an overview of the villa's amenities (timers/switches/remotes/etc.), a website is currently underway.

So guests might share information on local attractions – and to voice their opinions on THE best place for snorkeling, a blog is also in the works.

Concept & Approach
An opening paragraph describes paradise and uses Starstruck's prominant entrance mosaic as a lead-in to the villa's amenities. Supporting information such as floor plans and a list of local attractions offer clear orientation for those who do decide to visit.

Results
The brochure appeals to many as a keepsake item, it yielded some high bids at auction, and Starstruck Villa is booked for the 2012 season!

CASE 2: Schneider Electric

Objectives & Needs
Adhering to updated graphic standards, master assets for this international company are designed in UK English. Translated versions are then adjusted for text wraps, currency conversions, and for local product availability.

The volume of files is exponentially growing. In addition to each asset having regional versions, web-based versions double the company's archiving needs.

Proposed Storage Solution
InDesign's object layer visibility feature was suggested, and accepted as an efficient means of consolidating files.

Results
Refreshed layouts were lauded globally.

Streamlining the production process with InDesign's object layer visibility feature reduced file storage needs by 50%.
This modification also made it possible to synchronize the release of print/digital publications. As these releases are heavily concentrated with time-sensitive promotions, this modification was also profitable!

CASE 3: Mayforth Group

Objectives & Needs
This lobbyist group requested an identity that would represent them as a viable and legitimate government relations firm.

The brand was then incorporated into a new website and print collateral.

Concept & Approach
To emulate the venerability of historical documents, a calligraphic style was decided on for the Mayforth Group logo.

The dome is hardly a unique visual for any political campaign. However, Mayforth Group has a presence in both RI and in DC—and with both capitol buildings bearing such a strong resemblance, the dome seal won by unanimous vote.

Results
Here, the outcome is best described by the client: "We have been lauded for our great logo, business cards, letterhead and web site. Because of Tom, we stand out from the competition."
